When the marketing team launched a high-visibility push to reinforce the power of the .com domain name, they asked for a fresh way to grab attention across digital and social channels. Static graphics weren’t enough — we wanted something that would stop the scroll, spark recognition, and stay true to the brand.

“Looking to bring your business online?”

Overview

To help promote the power of the .com domain name, I created a set of short animated ads for digital and social channels. Starting with abstract marketing statements, I transformed each into motion-driven stories that were playful, polished, and unmistakably part of the .com brand.

Goals

Reinforce the recognition and value of the .com domain name through memorable, engaging motion

Support campaign messaging while increasing attention and retention across fast-scrolling feeds

Deliver assets optimized for web and social performance — balancing clarity, animation, and file size

Bringing the Ideas to Life

  • Storyboarding: I began by sketching simple storyboards to explore pacing and visual narrative.

  • Design & Illustration: Created bold, on-brand vector graphics that gave each abstract tagline a clear, visual hook.

  • Animation: Built short, repeating motion pieces in After Effects — designed to tell a quick story and replay cleanly.

  • Optimization: Tuned file sizes and frame rates to keep animations sharp and lightweight for social platforms.

  • Storyboarding concepts: Before animating, I sketched out simple storyboards to explore how each message could unfold visually — mapping the motion, pacing, and key moments of impact.

  • Turning words into visuals: Using the approved storyboard direction, I illustrated custom vector graphics that embodied the message — bold, clear, and unmistakably tied to the .com identity.

  • Building repeating animations: In After Effects, I animated each concept so it could play as a short story that repeats cleanly, keeping the message clear and attention-grabbing on a loop.

  • Designing for performance: Each GIF was carefully optimized to stay crisp and engaging while meeting strict file-size requirements for digital and social platforms.

Collaboration & Delivery

I worked closely with the marketing team to refine tone, pacing, and visual style, then delivered ready-to-deploy assets in multiple formats for digital and social use.

Impact

The ads added a dynamic, scroll-stopping layer to the .com campaign — making the message more memorable and visually distinctive across key channels.
